Stielstra moved to NYC after college, where he acted in two films on "Saturday Night Live" during the 1993 TV season, both directed by Jennifer Meyer. In Los Angeles, he endured background work in "Boogie Nights" and "Saved By The Bell" until landing a line in the Tom Cruise film, "Jerry Maguire". In between movies, he played guitar for children's storytimes in libraries. He also directed grotesque crime comedies ("Less Human Than Human") and performed in the punk band The Distortionists. In 2012, Stielstra moved to Italy. Here, he narrated and co-scored the Mike Malloy documentary, "Eurocrime! The Cop & Gangster Films that Ruled the 70s". This documentary about crime films of the Italian 1970s received a rave write-up in Variety magazine and premiered at the Chinese Theater in Hollywood, February 24th, 2014. From 2014-2017, Stielstra appeared in the westerns "Six Bullets to Hell", "The Price of Death" and "The Bounty Killer"--all shot in Almeria, Spain--as well as contributed to their soundtracks. After playing Niccolo' Macchiavelli in the PBS film "The Mona Lisa Myth", Stielstra completed 4 supernatural horror films: "Anger of the Dead", "Zombie Massacre 2", "The Blind King" and "The Curse of the Blind Dead", where he fought the Italian Sean Connery, Fabio Testi. The punk rock comedy "Excretion:The Shocking True Story of The Football Moms", written, directed, and starring Stielstra is a testament to wet-brain depravity. Additionally, Stielstra acted in "Catch-22", "American Night", with Emile Hirsch, and appeared on the Disney TV show "Penny on MARS". Stielstra has provided soundtracks for over 20 films. He now performs in the punk rock band The Football Moms.
