Shaista Usta, also known as Sabrina, Shaista N. Köseoglu, and Shai Üsta is an international lead actress and an American makeup artist who was discovered by the late Bollywood megastar, Dev Anand. Anand, later, went on to christen Usta with the universal screen name, Sabrina, since she was not of Indian descent, and the name Shaista (Persian name) was not favorable for admittance to the audience of Indian cinema at the given time; furthermore, Usta went on to learn Hindi, the native language of India. Dev Anand went on to cast the bubbly, mixed beauty as the lead to play the title role in his banner Navketan International Films', "Main Solah Baras Ki"-(I'm Sweet Sixteen) The film was the first Bollywood movie extensively filmed in Scotland and sponsors which included, Prince Charles's, "The Princes' Trust." Shaista Usta was featured alongside Shahrukh Khan and Aamir Khan on the front cover of Movie magazine, India before the initial release of her debut film. Although, Usta exhibited raw acting talent as the lead in title role, with a promising career in cinema, she returned home to the United States and furthered her education. For over a decade, Usta has worked as a professional makeup artist for Dior, Chanel, Sisley-Paris, and other couture brands in the beauty and fashion industry. Shaista Usta is also an activist and advocate for issues related close to her heart and the founder of Make Up and Mission.
