Born in Calgary, Alberta, Jesse moved to Edmonton and began scripting short films with his friends in elementary school. He ran a theatre collective after high school and wrote and produced original theatre with Cellardoor Theatre. Jesse's first film, COIL, he produced and directed in 2000. The film was shot from the perspective of news and video surveillance cameras. The film played at several film festivals and won awards for originality and innovation. His second feature, SIGMA, was shot in 2003 and released in 2005. It went to fifteen film festivals and won several awards before being distributed by Indiefilmes. Jesse's films are underground, guerrilla-style productions shot on shoe string budgets. As of 2013, he teaches media and theatre at a school for at risk teens and continues to write screenplays and produce local theatre.
