Wendi De Barros

Wendi De Barros shot right out of the birth canal on to the stage. She comes from a long line of performers. Her mother, LaDonna De Barros (Small Things) is also an actress. Her parents, Phil (aka Fernando) and La Donna de Barros met at a local playhouse in Huntington Beach, CA. While her late actor-director, father, Phil de Barros (I am the Law, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Desperate Housewives) was playing, "Starbuck" in the Rainmaker. As if that weren't enough of the acting bug coursing through her veins, she's the granddaughter of the actress, Barbara Leonard (Men of the North, One Hour With You) of 20's and 30's fame. Her great uncle, Marcus Turk was a stunt man. And she is a direct descendant of the Opera Singer, Antonieta Fleury de Barros. In a previous life (aka her lengthy hiatus) she worked as the Media Center Operator at KABCTV. Wendi directed and acted in Shakespeare in the Park for the Huntington Beach Playhouse, and a few local theatre's (Stages, SGVRT) while on hiatus. She has toured with productions, "The Wizard of Oz, True Colors, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, and did several productions at the Gem Theatre and Grove Shakespeare Festival. Always searching for more, she obtained her Associates Degree in Film and Video Production, and attended the Professional Actors' Conservatory (PAC) Two Year Program. Her SAG Card came on the 90's show, Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman. Find this lovable, character actress playing, "Nurse Williams" in the SnapChat Original (coming this Spring), Everything's Fine II (working title), and a Supporting Role in a short film for AFI, Same Old Story - not to mention streaming and Zoom Theater (ie: Covid Monologues for Breath of Fire Latina Ensemble and GhostLight Theatre Ensembles, Vintage Hitchcock) - the pandemic did not stop this actress! She is anxiously awaiting the Tom Six Thriller, The Onania Club's release! Some of her past roles include co-starring roles on, This Is Us & Baskets. She has a deep love of improv - this funny, sweet, relatable, plus-sized gal is exhilarated the industry is back to it!!!
