Rick Weis came to Los Angeles after winning a Student Emmy in his senior year at Michigan State University. He working as a grip, electrician, best boy and gaffer on feature films such as "Crossworlds", "Children of the Corn 5", "The Glass Shield", "Murder in the First" and "Pulp Fiction". He soon transitioned to editing and immediately got an opportunity to work with legendary documentary filmmakers David Wolper and Robert Guenette on a 2 year CNN historical epic. Years of documentary editing have fine-tuned his fast story-telling ability with and eye for unique visual branding. (As well as experience completely re-imagining a scene.) His scripted credits include many well-know comedy and drama hits ("Entourage", "The Office") where his production background and documentary experience informed dynamic conceptual approaches to story telling. Rick's first DGA directing experience was with Disney's "Zeke and Luther", a single camera action comedy adventure series. His first episode "Treasure" played on themes from his favorite Speilberg movies. The following season, he directed two more episodes. Rick has a son with wife, Heidi Weis, whom he met on the set of "Leprechaun 3" while working as a best boy electrician.
