Cal Wilson's career began as a young playwright under the tutelage of the Academy Award winning screenwriter Budd Schulberg, at the Watts Writers Workshop. Cal's debut play, "A Place for Henry," made history as the first play written by an African American playwright to be performed at the White House, for the White House Conference on Children. Additional plays include "Wild Roots," which was performed at Dr. Mona Vaughn-Scott's Berkeley Black Repertory Group Theater.
