The Silver Bullets have been respected and known globally for their intense level of standards during performances, major titles and competitions as well as their creation and innovation of dance steps and moves that have influenced many well known and respected choreographers world wide. John's ability to create a unique style of his own (often referred to and labeled as a Micheal Jackson style), as well as drive and ability to innovate and design dance steps and moves as well as his reputation for cranking up the level of competition especially as his opponents where reaching exhaustion usually caught the attention of judges very quickly in a very appealing way as well as lead to quite a few wins and championship titles. In his mid and late teens Willingham also taught exclusive dance workshops for fellow instructors as well as select intermediate level students though out the southeastern United States especially. His many wins include a national title in couples team and four member team during the late eighties and early nineties. John was later invited to the mother church of dance and The Dance Hall of Fame also known as the Stompin' Grounds in Maggie Valley and offered a personal invitation to become a member of the very elite and highly sought after and greatly respected World Champion Magnum dance team, Although John dedicated much of his life, long awaited and revered such an invitation regretfully he wasn't able to join due to unfortunate hardships in his life at the time.
