DL moved to Los Angeles after "Boxing Helena," where he worked for the producer until quitting to work production on several films. He left production to return to acting, doing several small theater turns in Los Angeles before getting his break in "Leaving Las Vegas." After which he did several big films in small and walk-on parts and bigger roles in smaller films (i.e. the short film "Memory Denied It" and the feature, "Pariah"). Upon filming the latter he fled from Los Angeles back to Boston where he picked up an Elliot Norton Award with his cast for the Boston premiere of Eric Bogosian's "Suburbia." He returned to film as both filmmaker and actor on "The Autumn Heart." His first screenplay and an official entry in "Sundance's Dramatic Competition." The film went on to win the Nantucket Film Festival.
