Fred Wright, the younger, was referred to as "Jun" to distinguish him from his father, also Frederick, a veteran actor and notable touring actor-manager. He was a member of a distinguished English Theatrical family. In addition to being the son of theatrical parents, he was the brother of Huntley Wright, well known for his memorable hit as the Chinaman in The Geisha at Daly's theatre under George Edwardes management. Another brother, Bertie Wright, performed the same roles as his brothers in George Edwardes provincial companies and all were well known prominent comedians. His distinguished sister Haidee Wright was a fine character actress whose heartrending performance as the the boy Stephanus in The sign of the Cross was unforgettable. His sister Marie, known professionally as Miss Howe Carew and also as Marie Wright, was also a prominent actress both in the provinces and in London town.
