Olga Adela Zubarriain was born in Buenos Aires on October 30th 1929. She began her career in the old Lumiton studios in 1943 as a bit player in Safo (Carlos Hugo Christensen-1943). Her real chance when the studio prepared an adaptation of the novel Frau Elsie by Arthur Schnitzler which was called The Naked Angel. She was chosen by director Christensen and by script writer César Tiempo. The film was released in 1946 and was a tremendous success because it was the first time an Argentine actress dared to appear half naked in a film. There was no problem with censorship. From the on Zubarry worked for Lumiton up to 1950 when she began to free lance. She's today considered as one of the most important actresses of the old studios and her role in The Thirst aka Man's Son (Lucas Demare-1961) deserved the Best Actress Prize at the Spanish San Sebastian Festival. In 1960 she married Dr. Juan Carlos Garate and gave priority to her marriage and her two daughters. However, even when she became more and more active on TV, she has at least one memorable role in Invasion by Hugo Santiago. She decided to leave her career in 1997 after Souls' Square. At present she has three grandchildren and is living happily married.
