Ariane Riecker was born 1969. She grew up in Berlin and Paris and studied journalism and art history. Before starting into the film business Riecker worked as an author and wrote various non-fiction books. Her career as a director started in Los Angeles where she lived between 1999 and 2005. Since 2001 she works as a scriptwriter and documentary and report director for broadcasters such as ARTE, MDR, ARD and ZDF. Riecker is an investigative and award-winning documentarist.
