Raised just south of Boston in Quincy, MA, Wingate left home as a young adult to pursue his dreams in Los Angeles, where he developed an impressive career in television, film and theatre. Wingate steadily earned a notable resume on television, including memorable guest-starring and recurring roles on primetime series like FX's Justified (2010), Sons of Anarchy (2008), AMC's Fear the Walking Dead (2015), ABC's The Rookie (2018), Castle (2009), and Showtime's Dexter (2006). In his most significant TV role to date, Wingate joins the cast of Showtime's upcoming new series, Let the Right One In (2022). On the big screen, Wingate has appeared opposite Paul Bettany in Scott Stewart's Priest (2011), alongside Brad Pitt in Marc Forster's World War Z (2013), starred as the lead role in the award-winning, Inverse (2014), and most recently starred across Trevor St. John in the acclaimed, A Good Enough Day (2022). Returning to his first love of performing on stage, Wingate was recently amongst the remarkable cast, including Sterling K. Brown and Michael McKean, in the West Coast premiere of Pulitzer Prize winner Suzan-Lori Parks' Father Comes Home From the Wars (Parts 1, 2 & 3) at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles. A skilled and talented martial arts expert, Wingate is privileged to teach and mentor youth from his unique personal experiences of self-growth with the principle that vulnerability is strength - he empowers students and mentees to go beyond their perceived potentials and limiting beliefs, discovering abilities, confidence and perseverance they never knew they had. Wingate lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Mauri and their daughter.
