Gil Lesnik is an award-winning director who was born in Israel and developed his career there, before moving to the USA. His extensive television experience includes directing, producing, filming as well as creating formats and developing content, in multi- and single-camera for both live and recorded programs. He has directed tens of thousands of hours of broadcast programming, working with vastly diverse subjects - from highbrow classical music to children to news to sports - to create captivating results. His awards include: . Best Movie Award at "La Matatena" the international children film festival in Mexico . Honorable mention at MIPCOM festival in Cannes; Nominee for Best Documentary Series Format Award (one of 5 nominees in the world for the Format "Oscars") . Honorable mention International Format Award for television documentary series format by the European Broadcast Union (EBU) . Honorable mention at "Danube Prix" festival in Bratislava, Slovakia . Honorable mention at the Jewish Film Festival in Toronto . Five-time nominee for the Israel Film and Television Academy Awards (Israeli "Emmy") Since 1997 he has held the role of Program, Film & Series Creator and Director for Channel 1 TV, Israel Broadcasting Authority. Prior to that he spent 7 years as a camera operator and producer for Channel 1, Israel Broadcasting Authority. Lesnik is a lecturer at the Israeli higher education institutions Sapir College and Ariel University in fundamentals of studio and mobile television broadcast production, and TV Studio workshop. Lesnik holds a Bachelor of Arts, Film and Television Arts, directing and producing from Tel Aviv University (graduated 1989), and in 1989 he was part of a delegation of journalists that participated in a communications course at New York University.
