Director Sunil Kumar Desai is a highly regarded, critically acclaimed technician from the South. He has mainly worked in Kannada films. In most of his movies, Desai blends art and commercial cinema. He has written and directed suspense/thrillers and love stories. He has won the Karnataka state award (4 times) in the Best Screenplay & Best Dialogues categories. He has also won the Filmfare award 4 times and a National Award. Almost all Kannada matinee stars worked with Director Sunil Kumar Desai. Especially actors like Late Shankar Nag (Director of well acclaimed Malgudi days serial), Late Vishnuvardhan, Ambarish, Ananth Nag, Kannada and Tamil Star Ramesh Arvind, Shiv Rajkumar, Sudeep (Introduced By Sunil Kumar Desai) and many more.
