Aleksi Salmenperä (b. 1973) is one of the most acclaimed and distinctive Finnish filmmakers, whose films have premiered in major film festivals such as Berlinale, Toronto, Hot Docs, Cannes and San Sebastian. His works include films such as The Mine (2016), Distractions, (2015), Alcan Highway (2013), A Bad Family (2009) and A Man's Job (2007). His latest film Void (2018) was awarded with four Jussi Awards, including Best Film and Best Direction, at Finnish National Film Awards.
