Russ Mooney joined with Toon City Animation in Manila, Philippines in early 2004 as director of creative affairs. Some of the more well known clients he has worked with at Toon City include: Disney Studios Warner Brothers Animation Universal Animation Nickelodeon Some of the more memorable projects Russ has supervised at Toon City include: Curious George ( Multiple Emmy winner and nominee ) Emperor's New Groove 2 Tom & Jerry Blast Off to Mars Pooh's Heffalump Halloween Movie Looney Tunes Land Before Time Brandy & Mr. Whiskers Lilo & Stitch Fatherhood ( Bill Cosby series ) Russ has worked in the animation business for his entire adult life. Starting at the bottom in 1968, Russ moved up the ladder from inbetweener, to assistant animator, to animator, to director / designer on numerous animated commercials, television specials and feature films such as Heavy Metal and Fire and Ice, over a period of approx. 12 years. Making the transition to television series work as a director in 1984 was a big step. This inevitably led to 5 years of working as an animation supervisor, which transitioned into becoming overseas animation producer whose responsibilities included the countries of Japan, Korea and Taiwan for Disney TV animation. The projects he supervised for Disney during this period include: Gummi Bears Tale Spin Chip & Dale's Rescue Rangers Returning to his roots in Hollywood in 1990, Russ accepted an offer from Disney TV Animation, in the role of producer, for its TV series show Darkwing Duck, which then led to a producer role on New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. He was nominated for a daytime Emmy on both of these projects. Russ then decided to return to directing for Disney TV for a period of time, on such TV series shows such as Little Mermaid, Goof Troop and Gummi Bears, as well as free lance directing on series shows such as Ren & Stimpy. He then decided to establish his own studio, along with his animation associates, called Bobtown Productions. During the five year lifespan of Bobtown, numerous animated projects were subcontracted from some of the most important animation producers and studios throughout the world. After Bobtown, Russ then joined with Nickelodeon in the role of supervising director on the Catdog TV series as well as directing on several other Nickelodeon projects such as Dora the Explorer. Hey Arnold and Angry Beavers. After his 3 year tenure at Nickelodeon, Russ then decided to work freelance and devoted the next 2 years to free lance directing on the Ed, Edd, & Eddy TV series for Cartoon Network as well as his last major directing project previous to joining Toon City, the Mucha Lucha animated TV series project at Warner Bros.
