Scot McFadyen is an award-winning director, producer and music supervisor, and the co-founder of Banger Films. Born in Mississauga, Ontario, he studied creative writing at University of Victoria. In the 1990s, he started his own theatre company and ran the largest music production company on Vancouver Island. Scot's first feature documentary Metal: A Headbanger's Journey, won a Gemini Award for Best Writing in a Documentary and was released theatrically and on DVD in over 40 countries. The success of Metal: A Headbanger's Journey allowed Scot to grow Banger Films into one of the world's best-known documentary filmmaking operations focused on music; his work has won several Juno Awards, festival awards and earned a Grammy nomination. In 2013, Scot started B-Minors, a full-service kids' programming division of Banger Films. In a just a few years, B-Minors has produced content that has aired worldwide, including: The Grizzly Cup, Gaming Show (In My Parents' Garage), The Big Ticket Summer Concert Special, Savvy, and the Nintendo World Championships. Scot has also directed several live concert videos with blues guitarist Joe Bonamassa, Motorhead and Rush, and is currently in production on a number of films and TV series. He lives in Toronto.
