Laurel Kornfeld has been an actress since early childhood. She started out in local and community theater, with most of her performances being in musicals. In the 1990s, she became a "scream queen," acting in numerous horror films, which she continues to do to this day. Most recently, she has played villains in "Psycho-Therapy," which premiered at the 2019 Northeast Horror Film Festival, "Relentless," and "Desolate Soul and the Lingering Ghost." A New Jersey native, Laurel attended Rutgers and Harvard Universities. She is also a writer and a progressive political activist and obtained a Graduate Certificate of Science in astronomy at Swinburne University. Laurel does freelance writing on astronomy-related topics and recently published two feature articles in the well-known British magazine "Astronomy Now." A fearsome advocate for Pluto's planet status, she has leveraged her advocacy for Pluto into a trademark, earning the nickname "Plutogirl," with an ongoing gag of trying to get mention of Pluto into as many of her films as possible.." An ageless, free-spirited redhead, Laurel is quirky, offbeat, comedic, outspoken, and in her own words, "an eternal hippie," who typically plays eccentric characters. She is working on a book "The Little Planet That Would Not Die: Pluto's Story."
