“Inevitably any series that goes on too long will reach a point where it starts struggling for ideas, so I've always been really aware of getting out while the going's good.” Antony Starr is a New Zealand actor known for his roles in Outrageous Fortune, where he played Jethro and Van West, in Banshee as Lucas Hood, and in The Boys as Homelander. From 2000 to 2002, he was a regular character on Shortland Street, where he played Stratford Wilson, brother of Waverley. In 2001, he joined Mercy Peak, giving life to Todd Van der Velter until its end in 2003. In 2005, he was part of the main cast of Outrageous Fortune, playing twins Jethro and Van West until its conclusion in 2010. In 2011, he joined the fourth season of Rush, where he assumed the role of Sergeant Charlie Lewis until the series ended that same year. In 2012, he participated in Tricky Business as Matt Sloane, although the series was canceled after its first season. Also in 2012, he joined Lowdown as Stuart King. On January 11, 2013, he began his leading role in Banshee, where he played an ex-con who adopts the identity of Lucas Hood when he arrives in Banshee, Pennsylvania, to escape from gangsters. He retained this role until the series finale on May 20, 2016. In 2016, he joined the cast of American Gothic as Garrett Hawthorne, but the series was canceled after the first season.
