Well-known Danish television journalist. Educated in journalism, Mette Fugl served as a trainee at newspaper Politiken in late 1960s to early 1970s. Her first television job was for DR's TV-Avisen (1965) from 1973 to 1975. She wrote for newspaper Information from 1975 to 1977 after which she returned to TV-Avisen where she soon became a familiar face as a reporter of political news. In mid-80s she also hosted magazine programme Ugens gæst (1984) and left DR for a while to work on Nordisk Film's television project "Weekend-TV" from 1984 to 1986. She returned to TV-Avisen in 1986 to focus on European Union material. She became the programme's correspondent in Brussels in 1992, a position she has held ever since with great success. She also found time to co-host the chat show Helt ærligt, mand... (1998) and has contributed to book releases and published her own cook book, "Fugls føde" (1996).
