Iran Daniel is an actor and Emmy® award winner television host and news anchor who captivated Hispanic audiences in the U.S. and Latin America as on-air entertainment correspondent for Telemundo's top-rated morning show "Un Nuevo Dia", the same show that made history by receiving the first-ever Daytime Emmy® for "Outstanding Morning Program in Spanish". As an actor, she has been cast in numerous television and film roles, including "Party of Five" (Freeform/Hulu), "La Migra", "Day Shift" (Fox Searchlight), "Bulletfighter," "The Comeback" (HBO), "Warren the Ape" (MTV), and Nickelodeon's "iCarly." Born and raised in Mexico City, she attended an American school were she learned to read and write in English before she did in Spanish (so while she has a slight Latin flair to her accent, she can count, dream, pray, joke, and very sparingly curse in both languages without flinching). Iran grew up in a family of politicians -the honest type tho (her grandpa was the Mayor of the city where his dad grew up and his dad the Mayor of the city where she grew up), so she was involved in community service since a very young age. Before attending college, she moved to London, England from where she traveled to over 45 countries, experiencing first-hand a diversity of cultures that ignited her passion for photography and writing. Her captured images and poems were put together in an art exhibition called "Identities of the World", first shown in Vienna, Austria, and then in other corners of the world. Back in Mexico, Televisa asked her to join the very first "Nuestra Belleza" beauty contest, the new Miss Mexico franchise produced by Mexico's first Miss Universe, Lupita Jones. Iran was offered a scholarship at the Televisa's coveted training program "CEA" (Centro de Educación Artística), but she declined to finish college in Miami graduating in Arts with a minor in Photography. She worked on TV commercials before she began her career in broadcasting as host of Univision's "Sabado Gigante," the longest running variety show with an audience of more than 100 million viewers in 42 countries worldwide. After studying Drama in Miami, she landed a lead role in a Soap-Opera and continued working as a Series Regular in a variety of TV productions for the Hispanic market. A producer offered her the lead in a short-film, and her passion for film led her to pack her bags and drive on her own across country in her convertible from Miami to Hollywood (with only her laptop, her drill and a sewing machine). Settled in Los Angeles, Iran has trained at Groundlings, and with Lesly Kahn and Margie Harber, and is happy to call LA her home.
