Eric Weinrib is an award-winning filmmaker and producer for the Vice News long-form team, with his work appearing on HBO, Showtime, Hulu and Vice TV. Weinrib's hour-long Vice News Tonight special, "The Paradise Papers," won a New York Press Club Award for business reporting. "The Paradise Papers" brings a massive data leak to life with extensive, in-depth interviews and rare, behind-the-scenes footage of a year-long, undercover, global investigation, exposing an unseen world of offshore accounts, hidden money, and financial misdealings at the highest levels of business, finance and politics. "The Paradise Papers" highlights intrepid journalists from the New York Times, the Guardian, German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung, and Russian newspaper Novaya Gazeta as they collaborate in secret. Weinrib is the director and producer of "Roseanne for President!," the critically acclaimed, award-winning, feature-length documentary that presents an intimate portrait of comedic icon Roseanne Barr as seen through the warped lens of her 2012 run for president of the United States. The movie premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and won the Founders Prize at the Traverse City Film Festival. "Roseanne for President!" was acquired by IFC Films and opened theatrically on July 1, 2016. The movie became available for streaming on the Hulu platform on Inauguration Day 2017. Newsweek selected it as "one of seven movies and shows to watch" online the following weekend. The Daily Beast describes it as "Intimate and brilliantly observed" and the New York Times states, "Politics meets celebrity in Eric Weinrib's fascinating documentary 'Roseanne for President!'" Weinrib is a longtime collaborator of Academy Award-winning filmmaker Michael Moore, beginning as an archival researcher on "Fahrenheit 9/11," which won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival. Weinrib produced on Moore's Academy Award-nominated "SiCKO" and "Capitalism: A Love Story." He worked with President Clinton strategist Chris Lehane in Moore's rapid-response "war room" on the publicity tours of all three films. Weinrib's award-winning short film, "Jimmy Walks Away", is a Sundance success story. "Jimmy Walks Away" was licensed by Showtime Networks for broadcast and was included on "Park City; The Sundance Collection," a DVD compilation of Sundance Film Festival award-winning shorts. The film was an official selection at over 20 other film festivals, including the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival and the Seattle International Film Festival. It was also selected by Troma Entertainment for their Cannes Film Festival sidebar. The Village Voice describes "Jimmy Walks Away" as a "comic gem." Weinrib was a staff writer with Stephen Colbert, Amy Sedaris and Paul Dinello on Season One of Comedy Central's "Strangers with Candy".
