Mayur Puri has donned many hats over his decade long Bollywood career as director, film writer, lyricist and actor, but he primarily is and always remain a passionate story teller at heart - a role he'd never grow out of. Mayur is a leading game changer responsible for the localization, trans-creation and adaptations of various Hollywood films into Hindi translated blockbusters. He is the apt example of the small town boy from Ahmedabad, who made it big in Bollywood through sheer conviction and hard work. He is the man chosen by big ticket studios like Disney and Warner Brothers to recreate their billion dollar cinematic experiences into regional translations better suited for the Hindi speaking Indian audience. The Lion King (2019), Avengers - End Game (2019), Pirates of the Caribbean - Dead Men Tell No Tales, Incredibles 2, Moana, Mowgli - The Legend of the Jungle, Avengers - Infinity War, Captain America - Civil War, Finding Dory are a few of the films that have reached the hearts of millions of Indian masses. Mayur's first commissioned script was - Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai (2002). Mayur was credited for the screenplay of the film and along with director Sanjay Gadhvi he started to work for Yash Raj Films. He was the Associate Director for the blockbuster - Dhoom (2004). The turning point as a film writer was marked by the Shahrukh Khan starrer and Farah Khan's directorial debut Om Shanti Om (2007). From 'Itni Shiddat Se Maine Tumhein Paane Ki Koshish Ki Hai Ke Kainaat Ke Har Zarre Ne Mujhe Tumse Milane Ki Saazish Ki Hai' to 'Ek Chutki Sindoor Ki Keemat Tum Kya Jaano Ramesh Babu' the dialogues have been a part of our pop culture even after a decade of its release. He further wrote the dialogues for India's 1st 3D Dance Film - Any Body Can Dance 1(2005). Followed by the success of ABCD 1, he was then sanctioned to write dialogues and songs for the second installment Any Body Can Dance 2 (2015) by choreographer turned director Remo D'Souza. Mayur wrote the dialogues for another Shahrukh Khan - Farah Khan venture Happy New Year (2014). His other works as film writer include My Name is Anthony Gonsalves (2008), F.A.L.T.U. (2011), Prince (2010), Blue (2009) and Jumbo (2008) as Creative Director. As a songwriter, Mayur worked closely with music composer Pritam Chakraborty and belted a slew of hit songs in recent past including the much successful album for Race 2 (2013), Singh Is Kinng (2009), Pyar Ke Side Effects (2006) to name a few from a huge list. The duo are the minds behind the super hit 'Selfie Le Le Re' from Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015) starring Salman Khan. He further collaborated with Music Directors Sachin-Jigar for ABCD 1 & 2, the revamped Zoom TV's Channel Anthem called 'Turn On' as well as Music Director - Himesh Reshammiya on KICK (2014) starring Salman Khan and Humshakals (2014). His other films as Lyricist includes All is Well (2015), I Love New Year (2015) and Raees (2017). Mayur also worked with A. R. Rahman on the songs 'Aaj Dil Gustakh Hai' for Blue (2009) and 'Alive' (Hindi version - Zindagi) for Provoked (2006). 'Chunnar' from ABCD 2, 'Tu Hi Tu' from Kick and 'Bheegi Bheegi' from Gangster are popular songs written by Mayur. As a Film Writer and Lyricist, Mayur has worked with the crème de la crème of the film fraternity. The list includes top directors, namely, Aditya Chopra, Farah Khan, Remo D'Souza, Kabir Khan, Abbas-Mustan, Anurag Basu, Priyadarshan, Milan Luthria, Sajid Khan, Prabhudheva and Anees Bazmee.
