Ingibjörg is an Icelandic actress, author and screenwriter. She grew up in Reykjavík but has lived in Copenhagen several times, both as a young woman seeking adventure and then later on to study. At that time she stayed there for four years (1995-1999), where she studied drama at Den Ny Dramaskole, Centre for the Performing Arts. Ingibjörg has been an active writer/author and scriptwriter for over 15 years. Her first public project was a play called "My mother My daughter", premiered in Hafnarfjord Theater in June 2005. It opened the towns Art and Culture Festival "Bright days". Ingibjörg played the main character herself. She's an author of two successful Icelandic teen books and wrote a film script (feature) based on the aforementioned books, English title, Jitters (Órói). Ingibjörg appears in the film as one of the characters. Jitters got 10 nominations at the Edda Awards in Iceland 2011, including script. It won the script award at the LesGaiCineMad Festival in Spain and was selected the best film at the Kristiansand international film festival in Norway. The film was a big international festival success. In 2012 Ingibjörg published an historical book called Gísli A Uppsölum, the book became bestseller in Iceland that year and stayed at the first place on the bestseller list for over a month. In 2014 she published the novel Rogastanz. Work is underway to adapt that novel in to a film where she is the screenwriter. Along with this Ingibjörg has played in films, television and on stage.
