Rey Silva was born in Puerto Rico and left his Island home to pursue a career as a veterinarian. His artistic side, however, was concerned with the study of an entirely different type of animal. With a fascination for the visual arts since the age of 7, he chose to take improvisational theatre as his elective class. By the following semester Rey found himself in the advanced improvisational classes. His elective courses finally became his focus as he moved to Los Angeles and immediately enrolled in the University of Southern California School of Theater. Graduating from USC, he entered the prestigious Stella Adler Academy in Hollywood. Still, seeking to hone his talent, Rey joined the Groundlings improvisational Theater School while continuing to mold his craft under the guidance of such renowned acting coaches as Jorge Cacheiro ( ref?"), the late Zena Provendie ( ref), Aaron Speicer ( ref_). Multiple film and television appearances soon followed with new projects in production. Rey Silva is comfortable in any role he takes on, adding to a character a balanced combination of physical presence and familiarity that captivates his audience. When Rey is not found training with his athletic experts, he is studying, creating and discovering new ways to improve on his craft. His talents include: Multilingual in Spanish, Italian and English, Classic Car Restoration, amateur racing, avid motorcycling, down hill mountain bike riding, horse back riding, rock climbing and repelling, jet skiing, snorkeling, scuba diving, fire arms handling, salsa/merengue dancing and the list continues to grow.
