Kristin was born in Vancouver, BC to Hilary, a former actress from Britain, and Les, a businessman from the Canadian prairies. She is of English and Ukrainian descent. A competitive figure skater growing up, Kristin found her love of performing when she joined Disney on Ice, playing various roles including Mickey Mouse. Kristin won the lead role in the Canadian independent film Switch while training at Vancouver's Lyric School of Acting, portraying Mia, a wild, self-destructive snowboarder. In 2011 Kristin moved to London, England to study contemporary acting at RADA. Shortly after, she earned her degree in classical acting from LAMDA, where she portrayed iconic characters such as Shakespeare's Hermione (The Winters Tale) and Richard III (Richard III); Beatrice-Joanna (The Changeling); and Eurydice (Antigone).
