Author of the acclaimed "Three's Company" behind-the-scenes tell-all book "Come and Knock on Our Door," Retroality.TV editor and founder Chris Mann served as Consulting Producer on NBC's hit 2003 telefilm "Behind the Camera: The Unauthorized Story of 'Three's Company.'" Mann's screen, publishing and multimedia experience, however, extends far beyond these well-publicized projects. The Tulsa, Okla. native has written for TV Guide, Emmy, Radar Online, The Encyclopedia of Television and other entertainment/lifestyle publications, and has interviewed pop culture celebrities ranging from Sally Field and Fran Drescher to Mario Lopez and Dara Torres for several health and fitness magazine cover stories. He also regularly profiles reality TV stars for these healthy living magazines. His webzine Retroality.TV ("where reality meets Wessonality") includes provocative, in-depth interviews with classic pop icons and newsmakers. His stories have been blogged/covered by USA Today, TMZ and several other online outlets. He also has served as a production/creative consultant and interviewee for numerous TV specials and documentaries, and co-produced and wrote several Joyce DeWitt-hosted John Ritter tribute featurettes for "Three's Company"'s 2004-2005 DVD releases. Mann again interviewed the sitcom's cast and crew members, as well as Ritter's first wife, Nancy Morgan Ritter, for these heartfelt on-screen remembrances. From 1997 to 2005, and again in 2008, Chris also worked as an LA magazine art director, casting dozens of models and talent (ranging from "Desperate Housewives" star Eva Longoria and "Sex and the City" sensation Gilles Marini in cover and story-driven photo shoots that he produced and art directed. In his art director/shoot producer capacity, he also redesigned LA-based lifestyle and entertainment magazines, worked with celebrity publicists, photographers and stylists, and scouted and negotiated studio, coastal and home locations for shooting throughout Southern California. Chris pitched E! their (in)famous "True Hollywood Story" on "Three's Company" in 1998. The cable network's first documentary to center exclusively on the backstage life of a TV show, this two-hour program extensively featured Chris's on-screen interview, and ultimately led to NBC's high-rated "Behind the Camera" telefilm (and subsequent franchise) that also relied heavily on Mann's research. In March 2002, Entertainment Weekly reported NBC was adapting Mann's book, "Come and Knock on Our Door," for their upcoming "Three's Company" behind-the-scenes MOW. John Ritter and Joyce DeWitt strongly endorsed "Come and Knock on Our Door" and its author in numerous television interviews on news and entertainment series such as "Entertainment Tonight," "The O'Reilly Factor," "Extra," "Inside Edition," "TV Guide's Truth Behind the Sitcom Scandals," "Donny and Marie," and "The E! True Hollywood Story." Mann maintained contact with Ritter until the sitcom star's tragic and untimely demise in 2003. In October 2004, USA Weekend reported that Mann had a book about Ritter's life "in the works." Mann also wrote liner notes and provided audio commentaries saluting John Ritter and co-star Don Knotts' comic contributions in the recent "Company" DVD releases. A behind-the-scenes expert on '70s-'80s TV and the seemingly glamorous world of Hollywood, Chris is currently developing multiple media projects.
