He is the son of Nigel Lythgoe, the creator and executive producer of So You Think You Can Dance (2005). His mother is Bonnie Lythgoe, a judge on So You Think You Can Dance Australia (2008) He has one brother, Kristopher Lythgoe. He is following in his father's footsteps, by hosting prime-time game shows on Australian TV.
