Born in Egypt, moved to the States in 1990 to study anthropology. After taking classes in photography Hesham changed his major to Filmmaking. He attended film school, Columbia College/Chicago and Graduated in 1996. He worked at local TV stations in Chicago. In 1997, he Co-Produced the Documentary, Saving the Sphinx (1998), for the Learning Channel. In 1999, he moved to Los Angeles where he worked as a freelance editor. In 2002, he wrote and directed the short Film, The Interrogation (2002/I)_, which was winner of Best Creative Short film in New York Film Festival and best Music Score in California Film Festival. In 2003, he co-wrote (with Dick Grunert) and directed the short film, T for Terrorist (2003)_, winner of Best Short Film in both Boston and San Francisco Film Festivals. In 2008, Hesham Co-Wrote and directed his First feature: _AmericanEast (2008). In 2010, Hesham Wrote Cairo Exit. Shooting of the Film started April 2010. The Film was Shot and released on 2011. Cairo Exit was premiered in Dubai Film Festival and many other festivals including Tribeca Film Festival, Munich Film festival, Malmo Film Festival. Hesham finished Shooting his latest Film EL Taman, The Price on 2014. The Film will be released on 2015.
