Born in Kolar district in Karnatka, Sayed Peer had no family background in movie making. However at a young age he took interest in watching movies of all languages that he could, and was quickly drawn to the charm of big screen. In his early adulthood he migrated to Bombay (now Mumbai), with dreams of making his mark in Bollywood. His first tryst with the world of movie making was in the Stunts / Action department. He spent his initial months taking training as a fighter. However he soon realized that his calling was movie making. From then on he soon started working as an assistant in departments such as Direction, Writing and Editing. He worked as an Associate Director in films such as Gehra Raaz, Ghamandee, Suhaag Ka Balidaan, Dilavar etc. In the year 1983 he got his first break as an independent director in Rajasthani movie Chokho Laage Sasriyo - which was a commercial success. After this he went on to direct 3 more Rajasthani films in the 90s.
