Born of Italian parents, Luke was raised bilingual but has always resided in the UK. His school days were spent at Dulwich College,of which Bob Monkhouse, Raymond Chandler, Dennis Wheatley, Graham Swift, Michael Ondatje and "Big Brother UK" producer Peter Bazalgette are famous alumni... unlike Luke. He graduated from University College, Oxford in 1981 and spent six years as an office worker in an inner city social work department before debuting as a stand-up comedian at London's Comedy Store and co-founding improvised comedy company "Spontaneous Combustion" with Jake Arnott, Phil Whelans, Alison Goldie, Chris Stanton, Patrick Marber and Andrew Bailey and later joined by Stella Duffy and Niall Ashdown.He was also a central figure in establshing the show Theatresports in the UK. He hosted the radio panel game, "You Asked For It" for BBC Radio 4 and authored and performed in the radio sitcoms, "The World as we Know it" and "Losers". He acted in four seasons of the BBC1 TV entertainment show "Confessions" and divides his time between acting and writing. He has two daughters, Alice (born 1990) and Martha (born 1993)and two step children, Alfie (born 1996) and Jeanie (born 1999). He has perfomed in Australia, Canada, USA, Italy, France, Germany and Spain but has always lived in South East London.
