Award winning actor and writer, Carmen Peláez has performed her solo play Rum & Coke to raves in LA, Chicago, Off-Broadway at Abingdon Theater and most recently shot it live at the Freedom Tower in Miami for Fall 2019 release. In 2012, she won the HBO New York International Latino Film Festival Short Film Competition with The Acting Lesson, which she co-directed and followed up with her short, A Queen Without His Crown. In 2016 she consulted on the Story House Juguetes Perdidos project. She was also a contributor for NBC Latino and has written essays for Marie Claire, Huffington Post and the New York Times. Carmen has also proudly worked and continues to work on President Barack Obama's Cuba policy team. Recently she wrapped on guest roles in Grown and John Leguizamo's Critical Thinking as well as having acted in The Words of Others at PAMM and Tino Segahl's Welcome to this Situation at MOAD. She was also the Cuban advisor on the Netflix relaunch of One Day at A Time, This year she starred in her new play Fake at Miami New Drama and is developing her screenplay Caridad.
