Donna Harken was born in Pontiac Michigan and originally planned on a journalism career. She served as her High School newspaper editor for three years and co-editor of the yearbook for one year. On entering Michigan State University she entered the wrong line during a crowded registration and as a result found herself in an acting class. It seemed the road to least resistance to remain in class. As a result she graduated with a drama major. BA - Michigan State University (major in Communications), MS - University of Nevada (major in Family Life Education) where she was a teaching assistant with U of N and directed Extension majors on TV presentations and script writing. EDS - Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan. Teaching experience included high school productions. Her experience in local live theatre included production, direction and acting. Her retirement from teaching was her entrance into local theatre and film. From Michigan, she migrated to the Orlando, Florida area and began working for several area film training schools (Full Sail Films and Central Florida University) and many independent film makers. Her breakthrough film work was with Edward Jordon's _Bollywood and Vine (2003) (V)_.
