Andre Simoneau is an actor, writer and director whose career spans over twenty years in film, television and theatre. He began his acting career in local theatre productions at the age of ten, before quickly transitioning to film and television work. Since then, he has appeared in dozens of films and TV series including Quantico, The Art of More, 19-2, Fatal Vows, Misogyny/Misandry, French Immersion, 11 Somerset, Fries With That and The Secret Adventures of Jules Verne. He continued his acting training in Dawson College's Professional Theatre (DOME) program, where he received the Willie and Beryl Moser award for outstanding acting ability. In 2005 he landed the job of host for YTV's hit reality series Prank Patrol, which ran for four seasons and 100 episodes. He received a Gemini nomination in 2008 for his hosting work on the show, and went on to write and direct several episodes in the 3rd and 4th seasons. In 2007, he founded Last Tape Productions, a theatre and film production company. Notable productions include Beckett's Catastrophe and Harold Pinter's The Dumb Waiter, as well as Simoneau's own play Remember Ezra. The company takes its name from the Samuel Beckett play Krapp's Last Tape. In addition to writing for stage and screen, Andre also writes prose fiction and non-fiction. In 2015 he received the Irving Layton Award for Fiction for his short story Bridges We Build. The story was published in Carte Blanche magazine. Also in 2015, Andre directed and co-produced the romantic comedy web-series Blank Paige, starring Kaniehtiio Horn. He is slated to star in the upcoming film Maz written by Nick Carpenter, and directed by Federico Hidalgo.
