Paul Donnellon, originally from Dublin, studied animation and graphic design at Dun Laoighaire College of Art and Design. Paul moved to London to work with TVC, the company who animated the 'Beatles' 'Yellow Submarine' and 'The Snowman'. Paul's first animation work was seen in 1986 on Raymond Briggs 'When the Wind Blows'. From 2000 to 2002 Paul moved to the Oscar® winning company The Mill as the consultant director of 3D animation. Amongst some of his work, Paul has directed and animated the music video for the band Orbital, entirely hand drawn in Flash. The promo 'Oi' was selected for screening at the Pompidou Centre, Paris, 2002 and toured with Res Fest to 27 countries. Paul has created and animated online games for The Guardian's educational website, Learn .co.uk with M & C Saatchi and the online trailer for the fictional book 'The Amulet of Samarkand' published by Random House. His work as a commercials director include: CBBC's launch idents, Mercury award-winning Talvin Singh, Pink Floyd Kate Winslet music video 'What If'. He has also been a visiting lecturer at the National Film and Television School's animation course at Beaconsfield. Paul directed the Emmy-nominated animated title sequence for HBO's Palme d'Or nominated feature film 'The Life and Death of Peter Sellers'. Paul is series Director on Daisy and Ollie season three 26x 7 mins for Milkshake and Hoopla Studios Previously Paul was series Director on Floogals season two 52x 11 mins for Universal and Milkshake.
