Brian Ralston is a Los Angeles based composer and conductor, where he lives with his wife Heather and daughter. Working in Hollywood for over 17 years, Brian has composed the scores for a wide range of films including his intimate score to the dramatic love story Being Rose starring Cybill Shepherd and James Brolin which will hit USA theaters January 2019, The inspirational sports film (Crooked Arrows (2012)) (20th Century Fox) starring Brandon Routh (Superman Returns) and Gil Birmingham (Twilight, Hell or High Water), directed by Steve Rash (Buddy Holly Story, Can't Buy Me Love). Of Brian's Crooked Arrows score, Daniel Schweiger of Film Music Magazine says, "It's this kind of constantly surprising depth and sense of sports adventure that will hopefully let "Crooked Arrows" fly Ralston straight, and deservedly into the big leagues with his terrific score that's seemingly shot out of from nowhere." Other credits include the action thriller Awaken (Awaken (2015)) starring Daryl Hannah, Robert Davis and Vinnie Jones, the SyFy Original Movie (Planet of the Sharks (2016)), and the gripping independent feature (9/Tenths (2006)), for which Brian won a Gold Medal at the 2007 Park City Film Music Festival for best music in a Feature Film. Brian has also composed additional orchestral underscore for the 20th Century Fox Television series "Angel" (1999/I) (exec. prod. Joss Whedon) as well as the 2003 staged musical SnEauX! - The New Sinsational Gothic Figure Skating Musical (dir. Andy Fickman, starring Kristen Bell), where he served as orchestrator & arranger and composed the musical underscore. Sneaux! was nominated for six LA Weekly Theatre Awards including "Best Musical 2003". Brian studied film music composition in the Scoring for Motion Pictures & Television program at the University of Southern California. He currently gives back to future generations of composers by allocating time to be an instructor in the UCLA Film Scoring program. He also hosts the SCOREcast podcast for film composers.
