Born in 1970 in Cranhill, Glasgow, Martin only became familiar with acting at the age of 27. While training in film and TV productions, he was directing his first short film. One of the actors failed to appear for his scene and Martin stepped in. Bitten by the acting bug he got himself a agent and work followed straight away. In 2000 he appeared in Pasty Faces, a feature film directed by David Baker, produced by Christopher Figg and Noel Gay Motion Pictures. He played super-slob Bobby, an out of work actor who lived in the back of a battered out Greyhound bus in the Hollywood hills with his mate Steve (Gary Cross). The film got a cinema release and was well received in Scotland. Martin soon got offers from other film makers and Steve Simpson and Scottish Screens The Ticking Man was next, playing Johnny Munroe a drug courier. Martin still works in all aspects of Film-making, from short films to features.
