Richard Montes is a Director and Writer from Los Angeles, CA. His latest film, the award winning comedy "Aguruphobia", received a limited theatrical release and is available on VOD platforms. Richard co-created the horror sci-fi thriller "Lost Angeles Ward" with Jade Puga, an original webseries which was featured in USA Today and is ranked within the Top 100 Amazon Prime Horror and Sci-Fi TV shows. His writing/directing/producing credits include the music documentary "Pass The Mic" distributed by Image Entertainment, screened for American Film Institute's Music Doc Series, and garnered great reviews from top music magazines and newspapers. In addition, Richard directed several short films with over 40 film festival screenings, including the two time "Best Horror" film festival award winning short "Toci: A Mexica Tale" and horror short "Liberation" which fright magazine Fangoria editor in chief called "pure rock and roll" and "loved it". Richard has directed music videos (airing on MTV Spanish networks and Mun2/Telemundo) and commercials. He has developed several docuseries shows with Thinkfactory Media, written for three hip-hop publications, and directed for the stage. Richard is a Chapman University Film School Graduate earning an MFA with an emphasis in Directing and studied Film at Cal State Long Beach. He is a member of the Native American LA Skins Fest advanced writers group. Richard founded Safada Y Sano Productions with his partner Jade Puga.
