Michael Carvaines is a writer, director, producer and editor. He was born in suburban Cleveland, Ohio, graduated from Normandy High School, earned a BBA from the University of Michigan and an MFA in Film Production from the Savannah College of Art and Design. His first job was for Gramercy Pictures and USA Films, helping to create the marketing campaigns for such films as Being John Malkovich (1999), In the Mood for Love (2000), Traffic (2000), Gosford Park (2001), The Man Who Wasn't There (2001), and Monsoon Wedding (2001).
