Seamus was born and raised in the Boston area. At age 10, he began studying the piano and just a couple of years later was accepted into the prep division of the prestigious New England Conservatory of music in Boston. At the conservatory he studied with two different piano masters, one for classical and the other for jazz. He supplemented lessons there with music theory, composition classes and performances with chamber music ensembles. Seamus performed his first solo recital at NEC's Williams Recital Hall at age 14. In 1991, James graduated from the famed prep school, Choate Rosemary Hall, in Wallingford, Connecticut with special honors in music. Upon graduation he matriculated to Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts and completed his studies there in 1995 with a B.A. in philosophy and special concentration on music. Post college, Seamus completed a Master of Divinity degree. Seamus' first film project began in 2002 when he became a producer of the full-length feature thriller film, "Little Erin Merryweather." He subsequently ascended to the role of vice president at Three Stone Pictures, Inc. "Little Erin Merryweather" is now owned and distributed by Lions Gate. Following the success of his first feature film, Seamus has produced a number of other productions and hopes to one day compose his own film music score.
