James Stellos was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Christmas day. The oldest of five boys and son of a restaurateur, James began acting at the age of eleven playing the juvenile lead, in "The King and I" at the Pittsburgh Playhouse. Beginning as a pre-teen he spent many seasons performing in summer stock. Classically trained at Carnegie-Mellon University, with a BFA in Drama with honors, he was recipient of the Drama department's Norman Appel Award. A film, television and regional theatre actor, he's also appeared off-off-Broadway. In Los Angeles Mr. Stellos' theatre work has garnered him awards for: Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Comedy by Stage Scene L.A.; a Garland Award for Best Ensemble Performance; and two Artistic Director Achievement Award Nominations, one for Best Actor in a Musical, the other for Best Actor in a Comedy. Of his work on stage, the Los Angeles Times proclaimed, "James Stellos is an impossible act to follow."
