Richard Kinsey is an actor, known for Making Waves (2004), Useless (2011) and Good Friday (2010). He has been married to Susan Montgomery since October 19, 1991. They have one child . Richard was borne and raised in southern California. He began his performance career at two years of age. His mother was a soprano and it said that he began imitating the songs he heard her sing. Observing their child singing around the house, his parents began bringing him to retirement homes and small venues, where he would be placed upon a chair and sing. He continued to perform throughout his child hood in choirs, as a featured soloist and in rock bands. After graduating high school, Richard attended CSU at Fullerton with an emphasis in vocal performance. His other studies included pantomime, fencing, musical composition and elements of theater. Two of his classmates dared him to audition for the role of Lancelot in an up-coming production of Camelot. Not thinking of himself as an actor, 19 year old Richard was astounded when he was cast in the role after competing against a large group of older, more seasoned actors. This was the beginning of his professional theater career. Since that time, many other musicals, operas, plays, recordings and concert venues have featured him in leading roles and soloist positions both nationally and internationally, including Javert in Les Miserables where he performed the role on Broadway, National Tours and The International Tour. He was awarded the Joseph Jefferson, Jeff Award for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Javert. Some of his other theatrical awards include: The Metropolitan Opera Encouragement Award, Virginia Best Adams Singing Award and the ASCAP Award For Popular Composition. Because of Richard's continual work in theater and singing, film and television took a back seat for years with only an occasional minor appearance in a Soap or Sitcom .However, recently Richard has been featured as a supporting lead in several films and now considers film and television as his career focus. In addition to Richard's performance career, he is also a published illustrator and painter and his work has been featured in several books, galleries and private collections throughout the universe.
