Candela was born in Buenos Aires in 1978. Upon receiving a Bachelor's degree in Producing and Directing Radio & Television at Belgrano University, she worked in several television shows in Argentina. In 2001, she traveled to Los Angeles to complete a Post Graduate Certificate Program in Film/TV/Digital Entertainment Media at UCLA and there is where she discovered her true calling: producing and directing feature films. Candela set up her permanent residence in California to have the opportunity to work on big productions with prestigious directors and producers. She worked in numerous feature film, some of them are: Sideways by Alexander Payne, Mr & Mrs Smith with Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt and Americano with Dennis Hopper and Joshua Jackon. In 2004, she formed a creative work tandem with Maitena Muruzabal and created the production company Cronopia Films in Spain. Candela made her directorial and screenwriter debut with the feature film Under the snow (Spain, 2008) that opened in theaters with great review and was invited to participate in numerous international film festivals around the world. The movie won 15 international awards. Candela is developing what will be her second feature film as director and screenwriter, Luna Lunera, an Argentinean-Spanish co-production that already has the support of the Navarra Government and the Ibermedia Programme and the feature film Blue Lips in post production.
