Kate brings over 15 years of experience working in the theatre, film and the television industry as a producer, director, writer, and actor. While having worked in both fiction and non-fiction genres, Kate has been able to focus her talents and experience to create over 100 hours of well rounded, intriguing, quality broadcast programming. Her work has aired on various networks such as CBC, Chanel 4, HGTV, W Network, History, Fuel TV, TELUS, and Slice. Kate's first documentary produced by KGP FILMS, Not A Stranger, won the Audience Choice Award at the Vancouver Short Film Festival and was nominated for Best 'Made in Canada' Short at the Northwestfest. Kate's second documentary, Melting Stars, won Best Short at the International Wildlife Film Festival. KGP FILMS sci-fi web series NarcoLeap was created and directed by Kate which aired on (July 2019-2020) TELUS Optik, the CBC app, GEM and Air Canada En Route. NarcoLeap garnered a Canadian Screen Award nomination, Writers' Guild of Canada and three Leo Award nominations and won Best sci-fi at Miami web fest, Baltimore and Asia web festival. As well Kate received three best director nominations from the UK web Festival, New Zealand web festival and the Asia web festival. Kate is a proud Alumna of Women in the Director's Chair Story & Leadership Program, the National Screen Institute of Canada, Reykjavík International Film Festival Talent Lab, Vancouver Island University, and the University of British Columbia. With all of her work, Kate shows an ability to produce quality entertainment, on time, and on budget regardless of the genre, due to her passion and enthusiasm for each project and the story that it tells.
