Wes was born in Salford on the very day that Margaret Thatcher came to power. In 2002, he landed the coveted role as the 9th host of BBC Radio 1's prestigious Sunday afternoon Top 40 chart show. The breakfast show at Galaxy Manchester followed, where he won various awards including a Sony. Since then Wes has guest-presented the 6 Music breakfast show, hosted a daily talk show on BBC Radio Leeds, and produced and presented documentaries for BBC Radio 4 ('Quite brilliant' Daily Mail, 'Excellent' Daily Express). He is also an announcer for its sister station, BBC Radio 4 Extra. Wes was the voice of Top of the Pops (BBC1), The Brit Awards (ITV1), An Audience With (ITV1), Live 8 (BBC) and not forgetting an appearance in the Richard Curtis film Love Actually. He has modelled for GQ, Vogue and Company magazines, and was behind the infamous Crazy Frog record. In addition to broadcasting, Wes is the author of two biographies: Kenneth Williams Unseen ('Enthralling' Roger Lewis, Daily Express Book of the Year review) and Whatshisname: The Life and Death of Charles Hawtrey, a number one biography on Amazon. Both books were dedicated to his daughter Maisie.
