A London born producer encouraged to enter the industry by his Grandfather the celebrated classics heavyweight producer and director Raymond Raikes, who was the first British radio producer to broadcast drama in stereo and who directed and produced many of the great London actors of the 20th century, including John Gielgud, Richard Burton, Laurence Olivier, Ralph Richardson, Norman Wooland, Ian McKellen, Maurice Denham, Peggy Ashcroft, Trevor Howard. Donald Wolfit. Raymond Raikes, also directed and produced BBC Radio's "World Theatre" and "National Theatre of the Air" and the popular 'Dick Barton special agent' series regularly obtaining 20 million listeners daily. Dick Barton Special agent was the precursor to James Bond.
