John Murphy

John Murphy spent his childhood between Cork in Ireland and London. He served as a detective in the London Metropolitan Police for 17 years before but his life changed after he was assigned a case to investigate the theft of some joke books belonging to the British comedian Bob Monkhouse as featured in the documentary 'Who Stole Bob Monkhouse's Jokes?' The experience caused him to re-think his career and after spending some time on the comedy circuit and doing TV warm ups, he broke into TV scriptwriting and returned to Dublin where he has now been credited on more that a thousand shows including, Fair City, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?, The Voice, The Takeover and Operation Transformation.
