Born June 8th, 1974, Francel Diaz Leñero began his career as a playwriter and director in 1991, working in several interesting independent theatrical productions, but due to increasing budget restrains he left the theatre scene to pursue a career in television as writer. Working first as a translator in more than 400 feature films, including 'Schindler's List', 'Saving Private Ryan' and 'Mary Shelley's Frankenstein', Diaz Leñero went on to win his first writing assignment on the hit sitcom tv series 'Una Familia con Ángel'. After writing adaptations for the very popular soap operas 'Perla', 'Mirada de Mujer' and 'Catalina y Sebastian' for the US market, he established himself as a very talented writing voice on drama and comedy series for TV Azteca and then went on to write and create a new reality series format for the wildly successful reality series 'La Academia' (2002). In 2003, Diaz Leñero wrote and directed an independent animated short film, 'Threecrab', an abridged, comic version of a play he wrote in his college years. Currently, Francel is working on several projects, including a film composers book and a new reality show series. He is also a contributor at SoundtrackNet and maintains the upcoming projects, filmography and award databases.
