The Cristiani family's act dates back to around 1840 in Italy. They are known as the "Royal Family of the Circus". They appeared before audiences and royalty throughout Europe with their famous act featuring acrobatics performed with and upon horses. In 1934 they left Italy to star with the Ringling Brothers, Barnum and Baily circus in the United States. After that tour ended, the family stayed in America re-forming their own circus which grew in size second only to their former hosts. Their circus folded in the 1960's due to economic reasons. Based in Sarastota, Florida, the family still puts on trampoline, bungee and aerial acrobatic shows at fairs and amusement parks around the world (as of 2017).
