A native of Merritt, NC, Kelvin graduated from Pamlico County High School, and then he attended the University of Maryland Eastern Shore for a semester, before transferring to North Carolina A & T in the Spring of 1980 on a full football scholarship. This college superlative was not only a great student and athlete, but he was also the president of the Student Union Advisory Board. Kelvin's a man of many talents, developed and produced school Fashion Shows and graduated with a degree in Occupational Safety and Health. As Kelvin aspired to embark on his career goals, with Football being at the top of the list, he was guided to Washington, DC, where most of his family still resides. He attended a couple of workout football camps, attracting brief interest from Green Bay, as well as Detroit, but interest soon faded into a brief stint with a minor league football team, the Washington Stonewalls. Once he realized that football was not his calling, he began his modeling career by doing area fashion shows, and as his experience grew, so did the work. In addition to modeling, Kelvin appeared as a feature in SWV's music video Someone. He was also featured in Gangstar, Guru and DJ Premium's music video Discipline. Many fans know Kelvin as a cover model for the 2001 & 2003 Ebony Soul swimsuit calendar and may have also spotted him on several publications such as: Island Romance Novels, Business Magazine, SMB Boxer Shorts, Nextel Communications and Old English. 2003 proved to be the year for this talented actor after landing a role on NBC's Law and Order Criminal Intent as a Swat Captain. Momentum carried on to other television roles such as; Hager in the CBS Television series Hack Starring David Morse, and as a Wire Technician in an episode of Third Watch with special guest Tom Berenger. 2003 also provided Mr. Davis with his role as La La in HBO's The Wire, which was the second most watched show, as a dramatic series. It was his role on The Wire that led him to progressively larger roles. After his work on The Wire, Kelvin was now in demand and has since been seen in several feature films; The Salon, The Italian Job, Men in Black 3, Spiderman 3, Tower Heist. More recently he is now most known for his roles in Deception, the CBS network series Person of Interest, and the HBO series Veep.
